Open to all artists and art enthusiasts, from beginner to expert, this session includes a live, semi-clothed model, starting with short gestural poses and moving into longer holds. Hosted by professional artist Simon Huelsbeck.
Work time is self-directed with the intent to create a fun, creative and inclusive environment to practice figure drawing skills. Headphones and water bottles are welcome. BYO Paper pad and sketching materials. Easels and drawing horses will be provided.
Class fees directly support the live model and support the mission of the Rochester Art Center, YOUR community non-profit organization for engagement in the Arts!

About the Host
After being raised on the shores of Miami Beach, Simon Huelsbeck moved to Minneapolis where he got a BFA in painting and drawing from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 1997. Later he moved to the east coast, residing in Philadelphia for several wonderful years where he earned his MFA from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art in 2002. Simon has since returned to Minnesota. He currently resides in Rochester, MN with his partner and two children and teaches painting and drawing at the local community college.
