Artist Spotlight Tour with Jennifer Bastian
Sunday, March 17 at 1:00 PM | Free
Join us to learn more about artist Jennifer Bastian and her artwork featured in Chronicles of the Chronic. Bastian uses art to regulate her nervous system and ease chronic pain by creating objects and experiences about the labor of parenting, grieving, and community building. The artist will discuss her patchwork quilt banner “I have missed you (Community Care is the Intimacy I Need”) that was first exhibited on a porch in Madison, WI.
About the artist
Bastian received her BFA in Photography from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and her MA and MFA from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She was a finalist for the Women’s Forward Fund Art Prize in 2022, and one of two Dane County Emerging Artists for 2017-18 through Arts and Literature Laboratory and Dane Arts. In 2018, Bastian co-founded the non-profit arts venue Communication and she is currently the Director.
