ROCHESTER ART CENTER

total arts day camp

Total Arts Day Camp is a truly unique and priceless experience for any young art student. Entering its 36th year, Total Arts Day Camp is the longest running education program in the history of the Rochester Art Center. Students are invited to join a team of professional artists and teachers for an immersive contemporary art experience. Students work both individually and collaboratively to create both traditional and experimental art projects, exposing them to the vast variety of art and processes in today’s art world. Last year, the students created oil paintings, drawings, skateboard art, music videos, stop-action animation, puppet show performances, environmental installations and much more. Each project is introduced with relevant artist examples, theories, and hands-on instruction. In addition, students will have the opportunity to meet and work with visiting artists on specialized processes and projects such as photography, paper making or sound art. The focus of the camp is to introduce creative problem solving, technical skills, and to have fun making art.

Take advantage of this unmatched opportunity to work with professional artists and encourage creative activities in a child or young adult’s life.

The Rochester Art Center will begin accepting reservations Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at 10:00 am. Please call or send payment (in full or a $100 deposit per child) to the Rochester Art Center for reservations. No refunds will be issued after the registration deadline and all cancellations are

Scholarships are available to families who meet need requirements. Contact Curator of Education Scott Stulen at 507.424.3309 for more information and an application. Each session is limited to 22 students. The grade listed for each session refers to the grade last completed by the student.
